Internships
Since fall, 2003, the
Department of Geography has been arranging formal internships for Geography
majors. The directors of the undergraduate and graduate programs in Geography
coordinate the program. Students to date have been placed in city and
country planning agencies and GIS units, as well as chambers of commerce.
Course credit is available for some internships.
Geography students also have summer intern opportunities with federal
agencies including the Bureau of Land Management (Denver) and NASA (Cleveland).
The Department participates in the McMicken College Internship Program
and has successfully placed students in local city and country planning
and GIS agencies, as well as local chambers of commerce.
