PRIMARY:

Periglacial geomorphology: Studying the issues of mechanisms of permafrost dynamics and monitoring of the Active Layer and Near-Surface Permafrost in the Arctic regions.

Climatic issues: Global climate change and permafrost dynamics. Assessment of possible changes in the upper permafrost dynamics under global climate changes.

SECONDARY:

Water resources and water quality issues: Studying the mechanisms of runoff formation; assessment of technogenic impact on river runoff and water quality in regional aspect.
