OHIO, CINCINNATI 45221-0131.  University of Cincinnati.  The Department of Geography invites applicants for a non-tenure-track Field Service Assistant Professor position starting September 1, 2008.  This is primarily a teaching position, with an initial three-year contract that can be renewed upon mutual agreement.  The faculty member will teach 10 courses per academic year on a quarter calendar in the areas of quantitative methods, economic geography, urban geography and regional geography at the 100-500 levels.  The faculty member will be expected to perform some departmental service and to demonstrate ongoing professional development and currency of knowledge in the teaching areas.  The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent teaching capability and effectiveness.  PhD required.  Evidence of refereed publications is desirable.  Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
